Single day without encountering architecture?

It's impossible to go through a single day without encountering architecture. The built environment is entwined with every facet of our lives – from our work to our homes to our hobbies and social lives.

Architecture inspires people to think, so it's no wonder that so many famous writers, artists, politicians and designers have such profound and fascinating observations about architecture. Whether you embrace minimalism or adore flamboyance, everyone has experiences and tastes that shape the way they interact with the built world.

What is a Lifestyle Architect? By definition, the term “architect” means the deviser, maker, or creator of anything. In this case “anything” is their lifestlye. Very simply it is someone who takes full responsibility for their situation in life and understands we all are the creators of our own lives. This is true whether you want to believe so or not.

The lifestyle architect quite literally designs and builds the life they want. Life is a self-fulfilling prophecy. What you think about you bring about. Your thoughts become your words. Your words become your actions. Your actions become your habits, and your habits become your reality.

Let me ask you some very serious questions.

If God came back and ended the world, or your life were to end regardless of cause, would your world have had a happy ending? Would you be able to say you took chances in life, that you lived up to your potential, that you used your gifts and talents to affect change in others, that you got to experience some of the finer things in life?

For most people, the answers are probably not good ones.

Unfortunately, most people never make the decision to leave their comfort zone and therefore never even get a shot at getting what they really truly want out of life. This is really all it takes to start your journey as a lifestyle architect. One decion. The decision that today is the day. Enough is enough. No longer will I play the role of the victim refusing to take responsbility for my outcome in life. No longer will I place the blame anywhere externally. It is up to me and I can do this.

To attempt anything worthwhile is hard and success is even harder. It is easy to sit idle. It is easy to do nothing. It is easy to accept your reality, to heed to the status quo. Because of this, most people amble aimlessly along in the direction of least resistance like a half-dead zombie asleep to the possibilities in life.

Wake. Up.

Nobody looks back on their life and regrets the times they took chances, only the chances they didn’t take. If you’re not currently getting out of life what you want, what do you have to lose? You’ll be no worse off for having tried. The worse kind of failure is failure to try. A close second is giving up.
