From a very young age, I knew I wanted to work in Architecture, specifically residential. The idea of crafting a space which someone will call home is one that I have never failed to be captivated by. I took my first step toward this goal when I graduated from the University of Westminster in July of 2015, with First Class Honours in BSc Architectural Technology. Never being one for time wasting and eager to take the next step I joined BLA just three days later. Since then I have worked on a number of projects ranging from New Builds to Commercial Developments, both in London and further afield in Oxfordshire.

Having worked initially as an Interior designer in London, I took some time out to travel the world and filled my sketch book with drawings of buildings along the way. When I returned to the UK that I took a place up at Oxford Brookes University to study architecture. On leaving, I worked for a practice in Oxford involved largely with the university buildings and healthcare projects. I met Eddy when I moved to London and where we both worked for a practice in the West end and headed up a team, working on large riverside developments in the docklands on the embankment. Alongside this, I ran the furniture business alongside practicing as an architect and exhibited regularly at the Chelsea flower show. I subsequently set up my own office where I was able to concentrate on my own projects for private clients both in Oxfordshire and London. Eddy and I have worked together for over 15 years and complement each other by bringing to the table our different areas of knowledge and expertise. We have been fortunate to have been able to remain busy through difficult times and have enjoyed experiencing the practice grow and flourish over the past few years. Long may it continue!

I studied at Southbank Polytechnic and gained my degree in 1986. After studying I spent the next three years working for a large Design & Build contractor in their design department, which gave me invaluable on site experience. Following this I worked at Hammersmith & Fulham Council, this too gave me invaluable experience in working for the Public Sector, which obviously helped with future planning issues. Having given myself a good grounding in ‘real’ construction, I began my private practice career at The HSB Partnership, this was followed by employment at a number of large London design practices. My work ranged from high end private residential refurbishments to large riverside flat developments. In 1996 I joined Landmark Architecture, where I met my future business partner Jeremy Lowe. While there we set up a satellite office in Harley Street and continued to work on high specification architectural projects. We set up BLA Architects in 2001, initially it was just the two of us working on small private house extensions and refurbishments in SW London. The practice grew steadily and now undertakes work all over London and Oxfordshire.
Project Architect
I studied Architecture at the University of Greenwich after which I worked in London on commercial office, motor trade and retail developments before relocating to Dublin. There I worked with Gardiner Architects on various projects ranging from private one off houses, restaurant refurbishment, security projects for the Office of Public Works, mixed use developments and a number of protected/listed structures including the conversion of a derelict mill in Birr to residential and the refurbishment of a former Georgian townhouse office for a trade union. After five and a half years in Ireland I returned to London to work on a 199 unit residential scheme in the London Docklands along with a number of smaller projects for local housing authorities and private developers in and around London. July 2010 saw me joining BLA Architects to focus on the extension and refurbishment of a Grade II listed townhouse in Belgravia. This was followed by a new build 49 unit residential development in east London for a commercial developer, a conversion of a commercial office building to residential through permitted development in Camden alongside a number of residential extensions and refurbishments in London, Oxfordshire and Wiltshire.
Architectural Assistant
I was born in Brazil and left two years after graduating from Sao Paulo University with a degree in Architecture and Urban Design. During my studies, I had the opportunity to work in a Structural Engineer Company and also got involved in master planning and urban design projects. Later, my professor invited me to work in his practice; a great opportunity and challenge that I loved being a part of and enthusiastically committed to for four years until I decided to expand my portfolio abroad. Since then I have been travelling to many countries observing and experiencing different cultures and their use of private and public spaces. Having the opportunity to work in a variety of Architectural Practices all over the world including Brazil, New Zealand, Ireland and the UK, I have developed a diverse body of work in several sectors such as public & high-end private housing projects, hospitals & clinics, shopping malls, sports halls and hostels. I joined BLA Architects on September 2014, to work on one of their many private housing projects. I thoroughly enjoy working with BLA as we make a strong team and believe in the high standard that motivate me to use all my gained skills and develop them further.
